Architects, clients, and contractors use mock-ups to ensure and test materials and detailing. Mock-ups are usually built on the construction site and are difficult to access. David K. Ross's photographs provide exclusive access to these fragments from the architectural world. The photographs were taken at night. The artist used theatrical lighting to isolate the façade models from their surroundings. The night-black, indefinite space envelops the facade models and creates the prerequisite for discovering new potentials of these architectural fragments. The exhibition shows 16 selected photographs from the series Archetypes by Canadian artist David K. Ross.
