Artist Statement

Christophe Cachelin is a self-taught visual artist known for his bold use of color, drawing on influences from acclaimed artists like Niki de Saint Phalle and Henri Matisse. His artistic path has spanned Montreal, France, London, Zurich. For two years, he has been based in Athens, where he recently held his first group exhibition in Thissio.

Working with cut-outs, collages, sculptures, and ceramics, Christophe's pieces highlight the vibrant interaction of color and shape. His skill in creating striking color combinations and his drive for artistic expression have resulted in exhibitions at various galleries.

In London, his works have been displayed at places like Cultivate Vyner Street, BSMT space in Dalston, and Shipton Street Gallery, and he has been a regular at the London Illustration Fair. His art has also been showcased in Zurich.

Beyond the conventional gallery spaces, Christophe's life-size horse sculpture is a standout feature at the new Central Saint Martins building, and his projects have appeared at Tate Modern for the Internet Yami Ichi in 2016.
